Draft Days & Ceremonies
When Israeli families visit their sons and daughters on base at the end of basic training, what happens with the lone soldiers? Who comes to support lone soldiers during milestone events such as end of training ceremonies, draft days, beret and end of service ceremonies? The Lone Soldier Center volunteers.
The IDF provides certain designated days in which soldiers can invite their families to their bases for some bonding and relaxation. Since lone soldiers are here without family, the army organizes special activities and “fun days” for them. The Center assists in providing and organizing these activities, ensuring that these soldiers do not feel alone.
