Helping Lone Soldiers with Furniture and Moving

The military provides a small rent stipend for lone soldiers to pay for their own apartments. They are often responsible for providing their own furniture and basic appliances. Many lone soldiers cannot afford and/or do not have time to purchase even basic items such as beds, refrigerators, ovens, washing machines and other essential houseware. Limited free time makes it even more difficult for soldiers to turn their living spaces into an environment that feels like home.

The Center assists in supplying the basic housing needs necessary to create a comfortable environment for a soldier to return to. We run a facebook page for Lone Soldiers and post furniture to be donated, so that the soldiers can respond if they’d like the item.
